Stone County Judicial Center

This project consists of two additions to the Stone County Justice Center. The west addition accommodates four courtrooms, the circuit clerk’s office and jury amenities. The east addition accommodates an expansion of the jail’s holding area. The west addition fronts the Galena Square. Therefore, the exterior cladding material and articulation was designed to tie into the scale and material palette of the adjacent structures.

The client outlined four criteria for the project: (1) Provide four courtrooms, (2) Enhance the jury experience, (3) Provide better amenities for people waiting for court and (4) Enhanced security screening. All four objectives were accomplished in the design and execution of the project.
