Barry County Sheriff’s Office and Jail
Cassville, MO
The Barry County Jail and Sheriff’s Office provides a safe and secure facility to meet the community’s law enforcement needs. The site selection was a collaborative effort between the County Commission, Sheriff’s department and design team. The acquired site had ample space for future expansion, access to utilities and is located adjacent to Highway 37, the main county highway located on the west side of Cassville.
The Sheriff’s Office faces the site’s entrance, screening the detention portion of the building which is set to the back of the development. Black metal panel marks the public entrance and denotes a law enforcement facility. The exterior gray brick was selected to relate to the gray stone of the historic county courthouse.
The project is designed to meet ACA and Missouri Core Jail Standards. For enhanced security, careful consideration was taken to separate the entrances of different users. A secure sallyport and secure corridors provide safe transfer of inmates to all detention areas.
